Who We Are
SD General Design & Construction (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a licensed general contractor (CSLB #1051694) serving San Diego County. This policy explains what we collect through https://sdgeneraldesignbuild.com, how we use it, and how to get it deleted. It applies to homeowners, prospective clients, and anyone who contacts us through this site.
What Information We Collect
Contact details you give us
Your name, phone number, email address, and the property address for the work you're asking about. You provide these on our contact form, our free estimate form, or verbally when you call us.
Project details
What you want built or remodeled, your budget range, timeline, photos or plans you send us, and notes from our conversations and site visits.
Contract and payment records
For clients who hire us: signed agreements, change orders, invoices, and payment records. Card and bank details are handled by our payment processor — we never store full card numbers.
Basic website analytics
Which pages you viewed, the ad or search that brought you here, and standard server log data such as your IP address and browser. We use this to understand which of our pages are useful.
We don't ask for Social Security numbers, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
How We Use Your Information
- Respond to your inquiry and schedule a free consultation or site visit.
- Send appointment confirmations and reminders by text or email.
- Prepare estimates, proposals, contracts, and invoices for your project.
- Keep you updated on the progress of work we're doing for you.
- Meet our legal, licensing, tax, and insurance obligations as a California contractor.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade it to data brokers, lead aggregators, or advertisers.
SMS/Text Messaging
SD General Design & Construction sends appointment confirmations and reminders for scheduled consultations and site visits, plus occasional updates about a project you have asked us about. This is a conversational, customer-service program — we do not send marketing blasts or promotional campaigns.
We text you only if you gave us permission: by checking the SMS consent box on our contact form or by telling us on the phone that it's okay to text you. Consent to receive text messages is never a condition of hiring us or of any purchase.
Mobile opt-in data and consent are never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.

- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Who We Share It With
We share your information only with the service providers who help us run the business, and only with what they need to do their job:
- Our messaging and email providers, so we can text and email you.
- Our payment processor, to take deposits and progress payments.
- Our accounting software, for invoicing and bookkeeping.
- Subcontractors and suppliers on your project — limited to the job address and scope needed to do the work.
These providers are contractually limited to processing your information on our behalf. Beyond that, we disclose information only when the law requires it — a subpoena, a court order, or a regulatory request from the CSLB or a permitting authority.
How Long We Keep It
- Inquiries that don't become projects
- Kept for up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Client project records
- Contracts, change orders, and invoices are kept for a minimum of 5 years after completion, as California law and our insurance carriers require.
- Text message opt-outs
- Kept indefinitely. We have to remember that you said stop, so we don't text you again.
Your Choices and How to Request Deletion
You can ask us at any time to show you what we hold, correct it, or delete it. California residents have these rights under the CCPA; we extend them to everyone. We never charge for a request and never treat you differently for making one.

- To stop emails, use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email.
We respond within 30 days. We may need to keep records tied to a signed contract for as long as the law requires, even after a deletion request — we'll tell you if that applies.
Security and Changes
Your information is stored in access-controlled systems and sent over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit who on our team can see your records to the people working on your project.
If we change this policy we'll update the “Last updated” date above. Material changes to how we use text messaging will be announced here before they take effect.
